Jackie Appiah wins Best Actress in Leading Role at 2024 AMAA Awards

Iconic Ghanaian actress Jackie Appiah has once again cemented her status as a force to be reckoned with in the African film industry.

She clinched the prestigious Best Actress in a Leading Role award at the 2024 Africa Movie Academy Awards (AMAA) held in Lagos, Nigeria on Saturday, November 2.

Jackie Appiah’s stellar performance in the movie “Red Carpet” outshone a field of talented actresses including Girley Jazama, Oyin Oladejo, Unati Faku, Uzoamaka Aniunoh, Laura Pepple, and Ife Irele.

“Red Carpet,” a star-studded film directed by Frank Rajah Arase, boasts an impressive ensemble cast featuring Ghanaian luminaries such as Kalsoume Sinare, Adjetey Annan, Roselyn Ngissah, Okawa Shaznay, Juliet Ibrahim, and Nigerian actor Deyemi Okanlawon.

The film also includes Oscar Provencal, Beverly Afaglo, Kobi Rana, Abeiku Santana, Selly Galley, and the late Ekow Blankson.
