Kempinski Hotel Gold Coast City was adjudged ‘5 Star Hotel of the Year’ at the National Tourism Awards last Friday, 23rd March, 2018.
The most prestigious award for the night was presented by the guest of honour Nana Kodwo Conduah VI, Omanhene of Edina Traditional Area, who said the tourism industry was the fastest growing industry worldwide, with Ghana being the center of the world.
Manish Nambiar, General Manager for Kempinski Hotel in his acceptance speech thanked the organizers of the event for their efforts in raising the standards of hospitality in Ghana.
He expressed the hotel’s gratitude to all patrons and guests for their unwavering support and loyalty over the past few years.

The ceremony, held at the Accra International Conference Centre, was graced by industry players, government officials, traditional rulers, heads of diplomatic missions and was organized by the Ghana Tourism Authority on the theme, ‘Promoting Responsible Tourism’’.
Catherine Abelema Afeku, the Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture, said the awards aimed at instilling an industry-wide service culture that squarely matched prevailing global standards and made the sector truly competitive.
She said tourism was a major pillar of the economy and it was expected to be one of the key drivers of Ghana’s socio-economic transformation through the creation of jobs, foreign exchange receipts, urban regeneration and the stimulation of local manufacturing to meet the diverse needs of the sector.
The National Tourism Awards programme was instituted by the Ghana Tourism Authority in 1997 to reward excellent performance in tourism.
