The Alumni Association of Legon Hall at the University of Ghana –Legon, has been relaunched.
The relaunch took place at a colorful ceremony over the weekend, and was graced by the President, Nana Akufo- Addo ( an alum of the hall).
Others personalities who were present at the function included the Vice Chancellor of the University Ebenezer Oduro Owusu, President of UG Alumni, Hall master of Legon Hall, Prof. David Atta-Peters, and other members of Hall Council, as well as other Alumni.
The hall is the first permanent residential building to be inaugurated by the then University College of the Gold Coast, now the University of Ghana in 1952, hence the hall is rightly referred to as the Premier Hall.
Delivering his address at the ceremony, the President indicated that he was proud to be associated with Legon Hall, and is committed to ensure the building of an additional residential complex (Annex D) for the Hall.
The Association also announced the establishment of a website (www.legonites.com), and database management system through which alumni can register and pay dues online, as well as get informed regularly of activities of the hall and the Association.
The Association will participate fully in the 65th-anniversary celebrations of the Hall, and mobilize all alumni to contribute their quota to the development of the Hall.
