10 feared dead in gory accident at Buipe

Barely 48-hours after nearly twenty people died in separate accidents in the Northern Region over the weekend, ten more people are feared dead in another accident at Kablipe in the Central Gonja district of the region.

The accident, which occurred today [Monday], involved a Kia truck and a VVIP bus.

According to an eyewitness, a taxi driver called Mohammed Sualisu, drivers of the VVIP and the Kia truck, died on the spot.

[contextly_sidebar id=”7N4sTuctio5qpsl2YWbe1vS7pObhL0YZ”]He narrated that the Kia truck from Kumasi and the VVIP bus from Tamale collided at the accident scene.

He said both deceased drivers lost control of their steering wheels when they run into a broken down vehicle.

The Northern Regional Police Command’s Public Relations Officer, ASP Mohammed Yussif Tanko, confirmed the accident to Citi News.

He said outfit was yet to get details on the accident.

336 killed in over 2,000 accidents in just two months

The National Road Safety Commission (NRSC), has revealed that 336 people lost their lives in road accidents in the first two months of 2018.

The Commission also stated that a total of 2,095 road crashes were recorded in January and February alone, representing a significant rise from the same period in 2017.
