As part of its social responsibility initiatives, the Family Health Hospital has presented GH¢20,000.00 to the Holy Child Senior High School towards the purchase of science laboratory equipment to enhance science education in the country.
The Chief Medical Director of Family Health Hospital and one of the founders of the Medical School, Dr. Susu Bridget, accompanied by Mrs. Reeta Auguste, the Ambassador of the Ghana’s Premier Private Medical School (Family Health University College), presented a cheque for Ghc20,000.00 to the Holy Child Senior High School.
This was in line with a promise the management of Family Health Hospital made to partner West Africa Examinations Council (WAEC), in ensuring higher standards of education to complement government’s efforts.
Holy Child Senior School emerged the overall best winner in the 2017 WASSCE Examination and the Best Science school in the 2017 WAEC awards held in Accra on 9th March, 2018.
Dr. Susu Kwawukume in an interview said Family Health Hospital has also taken charge of three years medical fees of all awardees of the 2017 Best candidates.
Dr. Bridget entreated Ghanaian students to pay serious attention to their books and study hard to become important personalities in the country since they are the future leaders.
The Headmistress of Holy Child Senior High School, Rev. Sister Josephine Anto, on behalf of the school thanked Dr. Susu and Family Health Hospital for supporting them, and assured they will put to good use whatever equipment to be purchased.
The over all 2017 Best WASSCE students went to Jochebed Adwoa from the Holy Child Senior High School in Cape Coast.
About Family Health Hospital/Medical School
Family Health Hospital was established in 1993 under the Companies Code 1963, Act 179 to provide diagnostic, laboratory and medical services to both corporate and individual clients. It started operations from a rented premise at Zoti Road, Latebiokoshie, but now operates from its own premises at Teshie, opposite Kofi Annan International Peace Keeping Training Centre (KAIPTC) at Ledzokuku Krowor Municipality.

The Family Health Medical School is Ghana’s first private Medical School and teaching arm of Family Health Hospital. The vision of FHMS is to be the prime centre for professional medical education.
Family Health Medical School is affiliated to the University of Ghana and accredited by the National Accreditation Board.The School has national and international lecturers/professors, and has collaborations with medical schools in America, Europe and Asia.
Aside the above mentioned equipment, the school also has well-equipped laboratories for Physiology/Biochemistry, Pharmacology/Chemical Pathology.
It has an Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI) equipment for the study of embryology (Anatomy), the only one in a medical school in Ghana.
Others are Wi Fi hot spots all over the compound, on-site hospital (Family Health Hospital).
Other unique features about Family Health Medical School are the onsite hostels with cafeteria services situated on campus and overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, providing a beautiful and serene environment conducive for learning.
The school admits people with WASSCE, SSSCE, IGCSE/GCE (Cambridge) – ‘O’ and ‘A’ Levels, IB Certificate holders with credit passes or better in the sciences as well as Graduates with a First or Second class in the Sciences.
Family Health Medical School is a member of the Family Health Group, started in a garage at 51 Guggisberg Street, Korle Bu, Korle Gonno, Mamprobi in 1997 as a Diagnostic Centre.
It was later moved to Zoti road in a rented premises and now to its permanent location at Teshie, directly opposite the Kofi Annan International Peace Keeping Training Centre. It is strategically located and overlooking the Atlantic Ocean.
