Accra Hearts of Oak beat Dreams FC 1-0 in the Ghana Premier League at the Cape Coast Stadium on Sunday.

Patrick Razak’s first half volley was enough to hand the Phobians their second victory in as many games, and end Dreams FC’s unbeaten start to the campaign.

Dreams FC had entered the game having not lost since the 2018 season began and started the brighter of the two sides with in-form Zuberu Sharani especially tormenting the Hearts of Oak backline with his slippery runs.

But Dreams struggled to create any openings despite their early dominance and it was Hearts of Oak who had the real chance of the game. Joseph Esso played in Daniel Kodie from the counter attack but Kodie could only fire his shot into the side net.

Hearts of Oak were now beginning to settle into the game and were rewarded with the opening goal inside 21 minutes.

Patrick Razak connected Christopher Bonney’s corner kick at the far post to brilliantly volley home, his second goal in as many games.

The goal had now truly lifted the phobians and they almost doubled their lead but Malik Akowuah’s long range effort was kept out by Isaac Amoako’s sensational save.

Dreams lifted their game in the second half with an attempt to claw their way back into the game but a combination of poor decision -making in the final third and scrappy shots ensured Hearts of Oak wrapped up their second victory of the 2018 Ghana Premier League season.
