Mr. Balogun added “Nokia is innovating along the lifestyle of consumers to enhance their lives. With regards to this, we provide pure secured android which is up-to-date and is connected to consumer benefit. We give consumers a software that does not come with any pre-installs.”
According to him, the pure secured Android gives consumers the choice to pick the applications they want on their smartphone with an assured monthly security updates.
Speaking on the turbulence in the technology industry, Mr Balogun noted that the public perceive there is a lot of competition in the industry, however, he said it was rather an opportunity to meet consumers’ needs.
With this, he said, HMD Global has launched 8 smartphones, which offer premium experience at an affordable price.
Nokia is known around the world for its history of innovation, including in mobile phones. As the new home of Nokia phones, HMD will write the next chapter for these products. HMD plans for its future Nokia branded smartphones and tablets to run on the Android operating system, uniting one of the world’s iconic mobile brands with the leading mobile software and app development community.
Touching on the evolving nature of technology, Mr Balogun noted that Artificial intelligence (AI) will dramatically expand within some few years. It is already changing the way people interact with a number of applications, platforms and services across consumer and environments.
He noted that the fast pace of the Artificial Intelligence will compel businesses to be innovative in order to meet the dynamic needs of society.
“To this end we are providing affordable entry-level handsets to powerhouse top-end smartphones; each phone is suited to a different sort of user. This makes a lot of difference in a region characterised by diversity of lifestyles and cultures”, he said.
