According to the police, the late police officer, General Lance Corporal Nicholas Duku, stationed at Tarkwa in the Western Region was escorting a TJ Resources vehicle with an unspecified amount of money from Tarkwa to Bogoso to transact business with the gold refinery company, chanced on the robbers, and he was shot dead.
The robbers then fled with a cash sum of GH¢ 900,000.
