The embattled president of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Kwesi Nyantakyi has reported himself to the Criminal Investigations Department of the Ghana Police Service to assist the department in investigating allegations of corruption levelled against him by President Akufo-Addo.

[contextly_sidebar id=”xqKl3DjNhmEzBBUavc3iPykTXuVDZM22″]Kwesi Nyantakyi is alleged to have used the name of the President, the Vice President and other senior officers of the government to take some money and lure supposed foreign investors into establishing businesses in Ghana.

President Akufo-Addo made a formal complaint at the CID on Tuesday after watching excerpts of a yet-to-be-released undercover film by investigative journalists Anas Aremeyaw Anas in which the suspect is said to have engaged in the offence.

Kwesi Nyantakyi had cut-short his official trip to Morocco on Tuesday after the report was made and returned to Ghana on Wednesday.

Citi News’ sources at the Police Headquarters confirmed that Mr Nyantakyi arrived at the CID on Wednesday afternoon.
