The Rebecca Foundation has donated assorted items to the Accra Psychiatric Hospital as part of activities to mark this year’s Mother’s Day.
Director of Operations of the Rebecca Foundation, Mrs Akosua Newman who presented the items on behalf of the Foundation said the gesture was to help alleviate the plight of the inmates.
She said the First Lady, Rebecca Akufo-Addo thought it necessary to put smiles on the faces of the inmates especially on the occasion of mother’s day.
The donation, which has become an annual event of the Foundation saw the presentation of items such as detergents, toiletries, buckets, foods and drinks.
Receiving the items on behalf of the hospital, Madam Regina Appiah said she was grateful to the foundation for the kind gesture.
“This is the first time we are being accorded this gesture on Mother’s day. We are very much aware of the great things you are doing in favour of mothers and children. So this is no surprise to us at all.” She said.
She, on behalf of the hospital, wished the First Lady a happy Mother’s day.
