The Member of Parliament (MP) for Tano South Constituency in the Brong Ahafo Region and Chairman for Parliamentary Select Committee on Local Government, Benjamin Yeboah Sekyere, has reiterated government’s commitment to the development of educational infrastructure in the country.

He, therefore, appealed to parents and guardians to channel their resources to the education of their wards as a motivation for quality education.

Mr Sekyere appealed for the programme at Techimentia to officially hand over a school bus to the Samuel Otu  Senior High School (S.H.S), 20 laptops for various SHS and 871 school uniforms for 20 deprive schools in the Tano South  Municipality.

According to him, the donation was his contribution to ensuring quality education and effective training of quality human resource for the country’s development.

“As an MP, facilitating and lobbying for development projects for my constituents is a priority. I, therefore, lobbied for a bus from the local government ministry for Samuel Otu SHS to help address their transportation needs”, he stressed.

He advised the students to take their education seriously and tasked them to desist from indulging in disrespectful acts and be disciplined in all their endeavours.

The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Collins Offinam Takyi commended the MP for the donation and charged both the students and school authorities to cultivate high maintenance culture in handling the items for the benefit of all.

He assured of the assembly’s commitment to allocate resource to the construction of educational infrastructure, teaching and learning materials and the provision of a motivational package for teachers.

The MP and his team later cut the sod for work to commence on the construction of a multi-purpose police station for Techimentia and its environs following persistent appeals chiefs and people of the area.
