President Nana Akufo-Addo will today [Wednesday] resume his nationwide tour of the country with a visit to the Ashanti Region.

[contextly_sidebar id=”vr5ZFAhGvD1cDNuZpE05XNCrs9qsZM3g”]The 2-day visit will afford him the opportunity to inspect on-going projects and interact with chiefs and opinion leaders in the region.

This comes after his 3-day tour of the Brong Ahafo region earlier in May this year.

While in the Brong Ahafo Region, President Nana Akufo-Addo declared his government’s commitment to the development of the road infrastructure to facilitate the transportation of goods and services.

According to him, the improved road network will enhance efficient service delivery that will improve the weak economy his government inherited.

Akufo-Addo is expected to move to the Western Region after the Ashanti Regional tour.

He will begin Tarkwa where he will meet with the chiefs and people of the gold mining town. He will also inspect on-going projects in the Region and visit some cocoa farms there.

While there, Akufo-Addo will address a durbar of chiefs and people in the Northern part of the Region who are demanding that their area is carved as a standalone region; Western North region.

The President’s last trip around the country in 2017, ended in the Eastern Region in December 2017.

The tours are intended to give the president first-hand information on the major developments across the country and assess the needs of the various regions.
