FIFA on Friday handed over a 90-day ban to the embattled president of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Kwesi Nyantakyi, over a corruption exposé by undercover investigative journalist, Anas Aremeyaw Anas.

The decision was disclosed in a statement issued by the independent Ethics Committee of FIFA on the back of a video which captured him engaging in some alleged corrupt practices.

The video was put together by investigative journalist, Anas Aremeyaw Anas and his Tigereye PI team.

FIFA’s statement read:

The chairperson of the adjudicatory chamber of the Ethics Committee has provisionally banned the President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) and FIFA Council member, Mr Kwesi Nyantakyi, for a duration of 90 days.

The duration of the ban may be extended for an additional period not exceeding 45 days. During this time, Mr Nyantakyi is banned from all football activities at both national and international level (administrative, sports or any other). The ban comes into force immediately.

Below is an infographic which indicates what the ban means for Nyantakyi.
