A group calling itself the Chereponi Youth for Peace (CYP), has dismissed the Konkomba Youth Association’s (KOYA) claim that government is using state machinery to continuously brutalize Komkombas in the Chereponi district and beyond.
The KOYA leadership at a news conference accused the Chereponi District Chief Executive, Abdul Razak Tahiru of being bias in handling a renewed land dispute between the Anufors and Konkombas in the Naduni community.
According to the KOYA President, Charles Nyojah, Konkombas in the area were being brutalized by security operatives without provocations.
This, he alleged, was masterminded by the Chereponi District Police Commander acting on the orders of the District Security Committee Chairman, Tahidu Abdul Razak for which reason he should be dismissed.
The Chereponi Youth for Peace group in a rebuttal jumped to the defence of the DCE and asked that the KOYA allegations should be treated with the contempt that it deserved.
The CYP leadership in a counter press statement copied Citi News rubbished KOYA’s call for the DCE’s dismissal.
The statement further advised the KOYA leadership to desist from making frivolous allegations against the government, and join hands with mediators trying to permanently address all recurrent disputes that have over the years given the Chereponi district negative publicity in the media.
