Nominations for this year’s Mobix Africa Innovation Awards has opened.
The Mobex Africa Technology Innovation Awards (MIA) is founded to help drive the creative, technical, and professional progress of providing innovative solutions to social challenges, enhancing businesses and evolving forms of social interactions.
The awards will recognize and honour excellence in technology innovation as well as individuals, businesses and organizations promoting technology-driven solutions.
The awards scheme will recognise both users and providers of technology innovation and solutions that impact livelihoods and deliver outcomes that comprise business results, customer focused, improves organizational efficiency with game-changing capabilities.
The winner of each category will be chosen by the prominent MIA Academy made up of academics, industry experts, public officials, private sector, entrepreneurs, company directors and scientists from around the African continent.

CRITERIA & ELIGIBILITY
- Eligibility for Participation for 2018 Awards
The MIA Award categories are open to individuals, startups and enterprise businesses.
- Innovation Categories Eligible for Participation
○ Software Products / Manufactured Products & Devices
○ Services
○ Inventions (Processes, Systems, Algorithms)
- Third Party Development
The MIA Awards will allow third party developed solutions with the application including the business entity who owns the solution and the partner entity that developed the solution. Examples are a mobile application developed by a third party for a business or a device designed by one company but manufactured by a partner.
- Period for Eligibility
The date for eligibility of the product, service or invention is from 1st January, 2012. Products, services or inventions developed or deployed before then are not eligible.
