The Rehoboth Temple of the Charismatic Evangelistic Ministries was last week filled with congregants and stakeholders of SKY Girls Ghana, a movement of teenage girls who are supporting each other to follow their passions and make positive choices for their futures.
It’s currently the biggest teen movement with over 30,000 girls.
The special occasion was to thank God for the success of the movement.
The SKY Girls radio show, monthly magazine, social media engagement and many other activities have provided girls with positive energy and helped them to resist negative peer pressures.
In attendance were members from the Ghana Education Service (GES), Now Available Africa (NAA), the communication agency in charge of SKY Ghana, media personality Kokui Selormey, the cast from the SKY movie, SKY Girls from across the city and well-wishers.
Commenting on the inspiration to thank God, Kofi Ocloo, General Manager of NAA, mentioned that the agency saw the need to thank God for helping them successfully run the program.
In praying for the team, the General Overseer, Rev. Steve Mensah, made a passionate plea to God to strengthen the movement and help them widen their reach.
Through the rapturous applause and response from the church, it was clear that the SKY agenda resonated strongly with congregants and some expressed joy in the fact that teenage girls once again are getting the needed attention to encourage them into fine future leaders.
