All is set for yet another unforgettable moments of music [worship], poetry, spoken word and choreography as the countdown to Accra’s biggest poetry event, christened #SpitBarsNPoetry18 takes off.
Spit Bars and Poetry will be happening on Sunday September 2, 2018 next month, 4pm – 7pm, at the Tesano Baptist Church.
The over 15 poets and spoken word performers along with other creative arts displays will include A-list artistes who have graced events organized by the Presidency including Ghana’s Nana Asaase, Rhymes Sonny, Sabukie, Cobby D’poet and Stella.
Others are Solo Hitz, Afua Adomako, whoisdeyzi, Abotreh, Asford Psalms, Nana Kissi, Chas.Boat, PsalmOne, Mckingtorch The Poet, comedy by King Budu, drum cover by Benjix and a few other notable Ghanaian poets.
Minister Negar Wujangi of Nissi Music INC, Immanuel Emmanuel of Stars of the Future fame and Double Army will usher patrons into an atmosphere of music [worship] and thanksgiving to begin the new month.
Spoken word artistes and poets will couch works and take on major social and cultural issues such as Child Rape, Ending Early Childhood Marriage and Violence Against Women.
Organizers of this year’s event have adopted PressForProgress – the campaign theme for 2018 International Women’s Day (IWD), aimed at accentuating issues affecting the Girl Child and Women via poetry and spoken word.

“We featured over twenty acclaimed and young talents last year”, he stated. Adding that patrons of coming Sunday’s event will be treated to free eye examinations from Godly Favoured Eye Care Centre and free drinks from Nissi Music INC.
