Some New Patriotic Party (NPP) executives of the Tamale South and Central Constituencies of the Northern Region have called on President Nana Akufo Addo to dismiss the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Tamale, Iddrisu Musah, also known as Musah Superior.
NPP Secretary in the Tamale South Constituency, Yusuf Danjoma on Eyewitness News said Musah Superior should be removed for running a parallel administration without consulting constituency executives under his jurisdiction.

Musah Superior is also alleged to have awarded contracts to himself and his cronies without awarding a “single contract to executives for the execution of his own campaign promises.”
“Musah Superior is developing Mion Constituency and neglecting the other constituencies in the Tamale Metropolis. We are sending a petition tomorrow to the president, the Chief of Staff, the Interior Minister and the leadership of the NPP to get Musah Superior out of office
“We have stated in our statement that no one should blame us when the worst happens if the president should fail to remove Musah Superior from office,” s Yusuf Danjoma warned.
Petition to remove Musah Superior
In 2017, some aggrieved members of the Tamale Metropolitan Assembly had requested a general Assembly meeting in accordance with Order 17 (3) of the Standing Orders of District, Municipal and Metropolitan Assemblies of Ghana, to enable them pass a vote of no confidence against the MCE.
The aggrieved Assembly Members had stated in a letter to the Presiding Member, copied to the Coordinating Director that they had lost confidence in Musah Superior, hence the need for a general assembly meeting to initiate his removal from office.
The Assembly Members had raised similar concerns that he has been awarding contracts without due process, and also disregards and disrespects them.
Musah Superior in his response subsequently described the petition to remove him as baseless. The matter was eventually settled amicably.
