Parliament has postponed its scheduled emergency recall from the 10th to the 24th September.
The House was expected to be recalled from recess next week for a week-long sitting to consider some emergency business.
According to the Majority Leader, Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu, the postponement has become necessary due to a string of some new engagements that must be attended to by the leadership of the house.
“The Speaker is sending myself, the first Deputy Speaker and the Minority Leader to Indonesia over the weekend. There is a world forum that we have to attend. It was not on the cards before we adjourned so we have to go this weekend.”
“The Speaker himself has also been invited to Korea next week which is why we have now rescheduled to the 24th of September,” The Majority Leader told Citi News.
