The Old Boys Association of Prempeh College has raised concerns about the activities of encroachers on the school’s land.
Several calls have been made by parents, guardians and students of the school about the situation, which is considered a threat to the safety of students.

“The Old Boys as far as I am concerned are totally against it. The Old Boys formed a very serious constituency of all stakeholders, and we are against it; it should never be done. Whatever has started there should be broken down and cleared away from Prempeh College.”
He said the Association and the school authorities will work together in the interest of all concerned persons and also bring the perpetrators to book
“The school will ensure that this issue is fully and properly addressed in a manner that is good not only for the Old Students Association, Prempeh College stakeholders and the country as a whole.”
Encroachment of Achimota School lands
Until recently, Achimota School also faced similar intrusion of its lands.
For years, parts of the land belonging to the school were invaded by land guards and developers who were said to be putting up structures without permits.
Old students of the school headed to court and sought to stop the work of developers who had encroached on the school’s lands.
But after seven years of litigation, an Accra High court in 2017 gave the authorities of the school the go-ahead to reclaim its lands from the encroachers.
The court ruled that the lands in question belong to the Achimota School.
We’ll deal urgently with encroachment on school lands – Nana Addo
President Nana Akufo-Addo has also promised urgent measures to deal with the canker of the encroachment on school lands nationwide.
He assured that his government would strive for a “satisfactory solution” on the matter of encroachment.
“Other schools have lost lives, not on the dramatic scale of Achimota but what little they have lost means they no longer have a playing field and the consequences are equally grave. The problem of encroachment on school lands as a whole will receive urgent attention from my government.”
