Back to back: Citi FM wins CIMG Digital Media of the year

Citi FM has been adjudged the “Digital Media of the Year [2017]” by the Chartered Institute of Marketing Ghana (CIMG).

The award is recognition of the station’s strides towards building an influential digital media brand.

The Institute views the station as having delivered “excellent results.”

Citi FM is lauded for being the market leader in data and research, data visualization with infographics and proactive engagement through improved content on the it’s digital platforms.

This is the second successive award for Citi FM in the digital space from the Chartered Institute of Marketing Ghana (CIMG) after it was named as the Emerging Digital Organization of the Year for 2016.

The Awards ceremony was held at the Accra International Conference Centre on Friday evening.

The citation handed to the Head of Digital Media at Citi FM/TV, Mawuli Tsikata, read: “you remained an entrenched one-stop-shop platform for all media-related activities even as you avail listeners with news stories on their smartphones.”

The citation also commended Citi FM for commanding making efforts to “be a domineering figure in that [Digital Media] terrain.”

The citation continued “in the year under review, you managed to chalk over 1.1 million likes on Facebook and 740,000 likes on Twitter, which marks a remarkable progress in the last count. In the year under review, you topped a list of 10 most influential radio stations on social media.”

Other winners on the night included Blue Skies, MTN Ghana, Bond Savings and Loans, GCNET, among other companies deemed to have displayed excellence in marketing in their various fields.

This comes after Citi FM was honored for being the media company with the best social media presence at Blogging Ghana’s 2018 Ghana Blogging and Social Media awards.

Meanwhile, the Chief Executive of Mcdan Group, Daniel Mckorley, was adjudged Marketing Man of the year, while Yvette Atekpe, Managing Director of Internet Solutions, was named Marketing Woman of the year.

Citi FM beat competition from Joy FM, KuulPeeps, Echo, GHOne TV, Pulse Ghana and Hitz FM to win that award.

Founded in July 1981 the Chartered Institute of Marketing, Ghana has operated with the aim and objective of among others, championing the role and value of marketing as a critical tool for business development, advocating responsible and ethical marketing practice for marketing and businesses; and influencing government policy and regulation on marketing and business.
