The Kejetia Central Market Redevelopment Project Verification and Validation Exercise, began in September to help ease congestion in the area, but was expected to be carried out on a full-scale from Tuesday.
The Public Relations Officer for the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly, Godwin Okumah Nyame, in a Citi News interview said the exercise will resume on Monday, October 8, when all the bottlenecks have been addressed.
“The assembly postponed it from today to Friday. By Monday, which is the 8th of October, we will resume and capture the tenants who were previously occupying the Kejetia terminal. This is to enable the validation oversight committee to meet and do a review of what has been done so far, the challenges and the way forward. We are not stopping the exercise entirely, we are only holding on temporarily,” he said.

The Validation committee is made up of 11 members, including the Amoamanhene, who is the Chairman.
