These firefighting equipment worth over Gh20, 000 included night visibility jackets and panic buttons to help the police in their duties and boost security.
The Western Regional Police Command has not been adequately resourced to combat fire in the event of an outbreak.
Some other personnel have not been trained for fire detection and prevention. The extinguishers, 40 in number are going to be installed at vantage locations across the Police Command.
Key personnel from the police were taught how to use the fire extinguishers as well as detection and prevention techniques by the Western Regional Fire Commander, ACFO James Emmanuel Quao.

He explained that “our research has shown that many of the state institutions have firefighting equipment, but the regional police command lacks this essential equipment. We decided to start from the regional command, and we will also continue to other security installations in Takoradi and beyond.
The Western Regional Police Commander, DCOP Redeemer Vincent Dedjoe who received the items expressed his appreciation and called other corporate citizens such as mining companies operating in the region to emulate the example shown by C7 Logistics Limited.
Apart from this donation to the regional police command, C7 Logistics Company Limited who are the suppliers of firefighting equipment to health institutions in the western region has also donated similar firefighting equipment to the region fire command and intends doing same for the Effia Nkwanta Regional Hospital in the coming days.
