The Upper East Regional Minister, Paulina Abayage, has promised to make the region a destination for economic opportunities by utilizing its untapped resources with the development agenda of the New Patriotic Party government to improve livelihoods of the people.
Some NPP members in their paraphernalia took to the principal streets of Bolgatanga to welcome Paulina Abayage who takes over from Rockson Bukari as the substantive Upper East Regional Minister.
Speaking at the residency, the first ever woman to serve as the Upper East Regional Minister, Madam Abayage, said she was committed to working assiduously with support from all stakeholders to give the region a face-lift and place it on the world map.
“We have resources that if we harness, people will come from other regions to our region to buy and sell. I come in to join hands with the Regional coordinating council and everybody so that we will have even more work on the programmes and policies by President Nana Addo that benefit us more.”
“I am going to work with vulnerable groups and we will make sure that the best we do will positively affect all people. The pledge I give this region is, by the time I am leaving here, this region will be placed on the world map for all the good reasons”.
She also called on the rank and file of the party to unite and implement government programmes and policies for them to retain power in 2020.
“The NPP has an agenda to prosecute, which is to roll out massively all the interventions that will affect the citizens of Ghana positively, but we cannot in a fragmented manner. And I am going to ask that we unite, MMDCEs, regional, constituency, and polling station executives, and if we are able to unite, trust me we will stay in power for a long time”.
