The Upper West Regional Police Command has arrested four suspects in connection with last Saturday night’s violent clash between two illegal mining groups that took place in Wa.
The four persons include two leaders each from the two illegal mining (galamsey) groups, Z-town camp and Jamaican Youth camp.
The Deputy Upper West Regional Police Commander, ACP Peter Ndekugre, who told Citi News about the arrest, said the four, which are withheld for security reasons, were invited and subsequently detained for inciting their followers to cause the weekend violence clash that left over 21 persons with gun and cutlass wounds.

The Deputy Commander however said the four were released on Monday morning on police enquiry bail pending further investigations.
Citi News sources indicate that the four persons are expected to meet the Upper West Regional Security Council later in the afternoon of today, Monday.
Meanwhile, checks at the Upper West Regional Hospital revealed that all but three of the victims who were admitted last Saturday have been discharged.
