Alpha Beta Education Centres, Dansoman, has celebrated its 30th anniversary under the theme ‘Leaving a Lasting Legacy: Impacting Families and the Community’.

The 30th Anniversary and homecoming celebration took place at their main campus in Dansoman on Saturday 17th November 2018.

It featured a colourful display of performances from students, presentation of awards to students and staff and goodwill messages from the founders of the school – Rev. and Mrs. Adjepong, as well as special Guest of Honour – Hon. Cynthia Morrison, Minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection.

Goodwill messages were also given by the parents and alumni of the school.

A Mobile Library Van

The celebration also saw the launch of a special Mobile Library Project which is aimed at serving children from surrounding communities who do not ordinarily have access to a variety of reading materials.

During the launch, the Principal of the school – Mrs. Florence Adjepong, stated that “The mobile library would serve not just to help children with reading and literacy, but would be a vehicle for providing other educational workshops for children in disadvantaged communities”.

Following the launch, the Principal provided information on the school’s new charitable project – a Community Scholarship Fund aimed at providing free and heavily subsidized community initiatives including adult literacy programs, parenting workshops, teacher training and youth empowerment workshops within the Dansoman community.

Alpha Beta Alumni Network launched

During the program, the Alpha Beta Alumni Network was launched to provide a platform for alumni all over the world to grow, network and support each other as well as future generations who attend Alpha Beta.

The celebration events included a Charity Ball held on Saturday 24th November 2018 at the school premises. Guests were treated to unforgettable red carpet moments, live music and networking opportunities all in aid of the Community Scholarship Fund.

The climax of the celebration was a Thanksgiving Service held at the Action Chapel, Spintex Road on Sunday 25th November 2018.
