Rev. Fr. Kenneth Abban, the Administrator in charge of the St. Dominic Hospital in the Denkyembuor District of the Eastern Region, has called on the Ministry of Health to speed up process of posting unemployed nurses to their facility.
Rev. Fr. Abban bemoaned the lack of nurses and other health professionals at his facility and other health care centres, attributing it to the delay in the issuance of financial clearance.

Abban called on the state institutions involved to ensure the immediate posting of nurses to improve healthcare delivery.
“We need more hands to work here at the St. Dominic Hospital, our Out Patients Department i always crowded with clients and patients which sometimes become very unpleasant seeing people who are not well and need prompt and immediate health assistance, but because there are not enough health workers to assist the sick they delay in long queues before it gets to their turn”.
“We are really not happy about this situation so we are appealing to the government to post these nurses to our facility so that they can help us to deliver services to the poor, weak, vulnerable and other residents who need health care. We believe if these nurses are posted to our facility it will greatly improve our healthcare delivery tremendously, because we will not have clients and patients waiting for long in queues, but rather attend to them in time to help save more lives and put a smile on their faces, which will go a long way to build confidence in the country’s health sector”.
