This was announced in a statement released by the Charge d’Affaires at the Apostolic Nunciature, Rev. Pavol Talakpa.

Before this appointment, Bishop Kwofie was serving as the Bishop of Sekondi-Takoradi from 2014.

Bishop Palmer-Buckle, the Metropolitan Archbishop of Accra was transferred to the Cape Coast Archdiocese, the oldest Catholic Archdiocese in Ghana.

This was after the resignation of Archbishop Mathias Nketsiah of Cape Coast.

After his ordination, his first assignment was as an associate pastor of St. Joseph’s Parish in the Diocese of Banjul.

He has served as the President of the Conference of Major Superiors of Religious Men in Ghana from 1998 to 2004.
