At least eight persons have been arrested in the Eastern Region over the kidnapping of three girls in the Western Region.
The suspects were rounded up in a swoop by the regional command in the Lower Manya Krobo municipality of the Eastern Region
[contextly_sidebar id=”chWy3AtVLhH4Co5QQBx4tCe53HId6dWj”]The Odumasi Police Commander, ASP Harry Selormey, who confirmed the arrests to Citi News said the operation was carried out jointly with the Takoradi Police Command.
The suspects have been sent to the National CID Headquarters for further investigation.
Three girls in the Sekondi-Takoradi metropolis, and one in the Tarkwa-Nsuaem Municiplaity in the Western Region, are believed to have been kidnapped between August 2018 and January 2019.
Three of the victims were reportedly kidnapped by the main suspect arrested earlier this year, 2019.
The suspect, Samuel Udoetuk Wills, is said to be behind the kidnapping of three girls in the Western Region between August and December 2018.
Samuel Udoetuk Wills is currently in police custody and being tried for breaking jail.
He has failed to provide the location of the kidnapped girls.
The Police are currently under public pressure to find the kidnapped girls.
The top hierarchy of the police have given assurances that they will arrest the suspects and find the missing girls.
The Western Regional Police Commander, DCOP Redeemer Dedjoe, earlier this week said his office has picked up some new leads that could aid their investigations to find the three girls who were abducted in Takoradi.
