Some qualified but unemployed Allied health professionals say the Health Ministry’s online portal is impeding their registration for employment.
The Ministry had directed the professionals to undergo an online registration process after securing financial clearance for 750 health workers.
[contextly_sidebar id=”CeBk0ZbXQk9Gf142ho5XF2vv25JbQJUE”]But the professionals say the online recruitment platform has been inaccessible to many, while those who have been able to access the platform also complain that the system failed to recognize their personal identification numbers.
The president of the coalition of Allied health professionals, Bright Bell said the situation is worrying.
“It is very frustrating because even as at yesterday, as the coalition president I received a lot of calls of our people complaining. If a person has passed the exams and has also registered with their counsel and gotten their professional pins, the person is supposed to have access to the portal. For Allied health professionals, we are supposed to access the portal with the professional pin. But anytime a person put in their pin into the system, the portal gives feedback that your data has not been captured,” he said.
In 2017, the Coalition of unposted Allied Health professionals accused the Ministry of Health of what it described as bad faith for failing to give financial clearance to its members.
The group besieged the Ministry of Health demanding the immediate financial clearance after the ministry failed to honour its promise.
The government announced that it had given financial clearance to the health ministry to employ some unemployed health professionals.
