The Black Stars of Ghana have been handed Cameroon in Group F of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations following the draw in Giza, Egypt on Friday night.
Kwesi Appiah’s team will also contend with Benin and Guinea Bissau in an all West African affair.
Five time champions Cameroon, eliminated the Black Stars in the semi finals of the last edition of the tournament in Gabon, enroute to their 5th AFCON title.
The indomitable Lions also knocked out the four time champions in the same stage in 2008, when Ghana hosted the tournament.
Guinea Bissau are making only their second appearance at the biennial competition, having debuted in 2017.
Benin make a return to the tournament for the first time since 2010 in Angola.
Host nation Egypt, have been handed DR Congo, Zimbabwe, and Uganda.
Arguably the ‘Group of Death’ is in Group D where 2-time champions Cote d’Ivoire will face former manager Herve Renard’s Morocco, 1996 champions South Africa and Namibia who are making a return for the first time since 2008.
The AFCON 2019 runs from June 21- July 19, 2019.
