The newly endorsed Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for the Keta Municipality in the Volta Region, Godwin Edudzi Effah has promised to develop the tourism potential of the area.
According to Mr. Effah, the beaches and other tourist attractions in the municipality require some investments to make Keta a preferred tourism destination.
He also promised to invest in the dilapidated Danish Fort Prinzenstein, which is among the four major Danish structures in Ghana to explore its full tourism potentials.
Mr. Effah who faced resistance from some party members over his appointment says he will work to reunite the party.
He said he will lobby for the provision of electricity to some areas in the municipality which are still not connected to the national grid.
The Anloga District Assembly was recently carved out of the Keta Municipality.
The former Keta MCE, Seth Yomerwu was then moved to the new district, creating a vacancy for a new MCE.
Some members including the first Vice Chairman of the NPP in the Keta Constituency Emmanuel Gemega contested Mr. Effah’s nomination saying he was not a native of the Keta enclave.
Mr. Effah, however, said it will be one of his topmost priorities to reunite the party describing the resistance against his nomination as one of such political things that happened.
