Workers of the Mövenpick Ambassador Hotel say a meeting with management today [Wednesday] will determine their next line of action.
The meeting is expected to among others resolve the workers’ impasse that led to a strike last week.
They also accused the management of the hotel of protecting expatriate workers at the expense of Ghanaians.
Chairman for the Workers Union, Charles Akomeah William spoke to Citi News on the latest development.
“We are waiting for them to give us a call that they will meet us today. We are hoping that the government will do what should be done to solve the problem.”
The workers refused to go about their daily routine and protested at the reception of the hotel last week, accusing the hotel management of being racist.
They also accused the management of the hotel of protecting expatriate workers at the expense of Ghanaians working for the hotel.
One aggrieved staff who spoke to Citi News accused the hotel authorities of shielding an expatriate employee who was caught to have stolen some gold bars, whereas some other local employees have been dismissed in the past for stealing food items.
