The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Ghana, Professor Ebenezer Oduro Owusu has led a team from the University of Ghana to the Reinventing Higher Education Conference in Brown University in the United States of America.
Brown University is the seventh-oldest college in the USA and they hosted the conference in conjunction with IE University of Spain.
Other prestigious universities that were represented included the London School of Economics and University College London.
Speaking on the sideline of the conference, the Vice Chancellor noted that the University of Ghana was making progress in formulating policies related to Marketing Communications and Customer Service.
He said the university has also developed a service charter to assist in improving the service experience for all of the University’s customers.
The Vice-Chancellor said all these initiatives are geared at forging international partnerships and networks for the University and that the University of Ghana was very interested in international partnerships.
He said he just returned from a tour of some UK institutions and that UG was looking to partner more institutions in Europe and the Americas.
The Vice-Chancellor noted that his strategic imperative of striving to make UG a “go-to” University was predicated on making UG internationally attractive to students faculty and major donor institutions.
The Vice-Chancellor was accompanied by the Director of the Human Resources Directorate of University of Ghana and Head of the Department of Marketing and Entrepreneurship at the University of Ghana Business School.
