The Police in the Eastern Region are on a manhunt for a murder suspect, Kwadwo Asante who attacked his brother with a club hammer after an altercation at Adaawase in the Eastern Region.
The deceased, 46-year-old Kwasi Asante who died after the attack, was laid in state for burial by the family when attention was drawn to the case.
The Police conveyed the body to Ankaase Chad Mortuary for physical examination.
The Eastern Regional Police Public Relations Officer DSP Ebenezer Tetteh said the deceased had an injury on the occipital area of his head and a swollen right eye.
“With the assistance of some family members, we were able to convey the body quickly to the mortuary. The body was subsequently inspected and upon inspection, we found some deep cuts and some marks of violence so the Police became suspicious and based on that we decided to move the body further to the Police Hospital for preservation pending an autopsy.
“Meanwhile we are pursuing Kojo Asante who is on the run to face the full rigours of the law. We are appealing to residents in Ankaase to assist the Police to track and arrested him.”
