Officers from the Swedru District Police Command led by Superintendent Seth Yirenkyi have visited the family of a student of the University of Education who was killed by his own brother after an argument.
The purpose of the visit was to give the Police a better understanding of the issues that led to the death of the deceased.
Family, friends and loved ones gathered at the family house at Gomoa Obuasi in the Central Region to mourn the deceased.
In an Interview with Citi News, Superintendent Seth Yirenkyi indicated that the Police will pursue the truth.
“We will find out what led to brother killing another brother,” the District Commander said.
He again explained that the suspect, James Annan who is a 27-year-old graduate of the University of Cape Coast who is currently in Police custody will soon be put before court.
“We are preparing to send the matter to court for justice to prevail,” Superintendent Yirenkyi said.
27-year old James Annan, a graduate of the University of Cape Coast slashed Michael Botchwey his brother and students of the University of Education, Winneba after an argument ensued between them at an orange farm in Gomoa Obuasi.
Michael Botchwey, a graduate from the University of Education in 2019 was rushed to the Agona Swedru Municipal hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
The motive for the crime is not yet known as Police continue to interrogate him for answers.
