The District Chief Executive for Ellembelle in the Western Region, Kwasi Bonzoh has presented 54 motorcycles to all the assembly members in the district.
The bikes, according to him will help assembly members effectively discharge their duties in their respective electoral areas.
Many assembly members in the district are usually constrained in their mobility due to the distances they have to travel when needed for assembly duties.
Those in the northern part of the district are the most challenged due to the nature of road from Ayinase to electoral areas in Ayinase North.
Presenting the 54 motorcycles, Mr. Bonzoh stressed on the need for assembly members to prioritise safety whenever using the motorcycles.
He said, “we all know how we tragically lost one of our members to a motorcycle accident. If he was wearing his helmet, that incident may not have ended the way it did.”
He continued that “these motorcycles came with helmets. Let us all use it. It may not be comfortable at all times but it’s for our protection. Use them to enhance your work as assembly members in your electoral areas”.
The Presiding Member of the Ellembelle District Assembly who received the items on behalf of his colleagues assured the DCE of effectively using them for the good of the people they lead in their respective electoral areas.
