Police in the Volta Region have announced the closure of some link roads in Ho ahead of the burial and funeral rites of late Fianor Rosalia Akuyo Anyawoe, mother of the Agbogbomefia of Asogli traditional state and the President of the National House of Chiefs, Togbe Afede XIV.
The final funeral rites of the late Fianor Rosalia Akuyo Anyawoe begun on Monday, June 24 and will end on Sunday, July 7, 2019.
The announcement was made in a statement from the Public Relations unit of Volta Regional Police command.
The statement signed by ASP Felix Danku, named the Asogli Palace road and the link road between Jerry Arts and God Dey building, all within the Ho-Bankoe (Kpoanyigba) suburb for closure, effective, Monday, June 24 to Sunday, July 7 2019.
The two-week long funeral is expected to see a rich display of the culture of the Asogli state and also draw several high-profile-personality mourners including President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to join the National House of Chief’s president to bid farewell to his mother, who died in September 2018 aged 81.
A book of condolence has been opened at the Asogli Palace hall in memory of Fianor Rosalia Akuyo Anyawoe, which the Volta Regional Minister, Dr Archibald Letsa and his Deputy, Rev. Johnson Avuletey signed on Tuesday.
