The Institute of Directors Ghana has inaugurated the Eastern Regional Chapter of the Association with a call on executives and members to uphold and instil good corporate governance in their institutions.
The professional institution was established in 1999 to promote good corporate governance in Ghana.
In a Citi News interview, the President of the institute, Rockson Dogbegah indicated that the establishment of the new branch will help deepen the culture of good governance in the Eastern Region.
“We believe that as a country the issue of integrity, accountability, transparency and fairness are very critical to our growth and development because without fairness we cannot have a society that will be seen as a responsible society. So it is our belief that we will see a better Ghana if we champion this course,” he said.
The Eastern Regional Chairperson for the Institute, Professor Mrs Smile Dzisi pledged to work tirelessly with other executives and members to ensure that the standards of the association are held high.
“We will also be committed to apply the five key pillars of good corporate governance which are accountability, responsibility, transparency, independence and fairness at all times in our professional life and make the Eastern Regional branch one of the most vibrant in the history of the institute,” she added.
