The Police in Kade have arrested two persons who were part of a mob that lynched a man at Kade in the Kwaebibirim District of the Eastern Region on Tuesday.
According to the Police, the deceased, who is mentally challenged attacked two persons in the area.
Some residents who were infuriated by the attack subsequently subjected the man to severe beatings which led to his death.
Eastern Regional Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Ebenezer Tetteh who disclosed this in a Citi News interview said the command has begun investigations into the incident.
Narrating the incident, DSP Tetteh said: “He is a known mentally challenged person and the information is that he usually comes around and attack people in town.”
“And on Tuesday, he was reported to have come to the Kade township on and attacked two persons. The mob beat him and subsequently we were told he died. The Police, based on intelligence got two people arrested one of whom was alleged to have been stabbed by this man was in the video, and one other person.”
