Liverpool will look to secure Jurgen Klopp’s long-term future with a £10million-a-year deal after he took the club back to the pinnacle of European football.

Hundreds of thousands of fans lined the city’s streets as Klopp’s squad paraded the European Cup after returning from their 2-0 win over Tottenham in the Champions League final in Madrid.

Klopp has three seasons left on his £7m-a-year deal but Liverpool’s owners will look to improve and potentially extend his terms.

Sportsmail believes Fenway Sports Group are ready to offer the 51-year-old German a salary of £10m.

Liverpool chairman Tom Werner said: ‘When the players threw Jurgen in the air after our victory, they were acknowledging what all Liverpool fans know — he is beloved by all who appreciate football. Jurgen is a brilliant coach.

‘But, just as importantly, he is a humble and caring man who is happy today because he knows what this meant to our supporters.’
