Executives of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Tain district of the Bono Region are calling on President Akufo-Addo to remove the District Chief Executive (DCE) for the area, Foriwaa Dwommoh from office.
Addressing a press conference at Nsawkaw, the capital of the Tain District, Secretary of the NPP in the Constituency, Adama Coulibaly, also accused the DCE and other party supporters of sabotaging the work of the elected executives of the party.
“We want to remind all NPP faithful and sympathizers in the constituency that the people used by Foriwaa Dwommoh, are known people that have been opposing the party internally since 2008. These same people always try to play the devil’s advocate whenever the NPP constitutional mandated Constituency Executives put in proper plans to keep the constituency going.
“We are now used to them so no cause for alarm. We, however, want to caution them that if they won’t help us put our constituency in the order they should not try to divert our attention for the pittances they are assured of by their pay mistress”, he added.
He also called on President Akufo Addo to act on the petition they sent to him, “We are on this note telling all party faithful that our call on the President of the Republic to change Dwommoh remains unabated and we are waiting on His Excellency to heed to our call. We again want to tell our itching supporters and party sympathizers to remain calm and allow the peaceful process we have adopted to reign.”
He noted that the second group of people sabotaging the party include; Nana Osei, Kwame Sammy and Emelia Amponsah who are also accusing the Member of Parliament of the area, Gabriel Osei wrongly of being behind what the executives of the party are doing.
He said the executives are grownups and can make decisions for themselves adding they have a four-year mandate to steer the affairs of the party in the constituency.
He also accused the DCE of being behind the arrest of some Polling Station Executives of the party notable among is Simon Banieh.
Mr. Coulibaly urged all the party supporters in the Constituency to remain calm as the executives use the right procedure to ensure the removal of the DCE.
