A National Democratic Congress Parliamentary candidate hopeful in the Madina Constituency, Sidii Abubakar Musah, has called on the party to put unity first as it heads into its constituency primaries in the coming days.
According to him, the NDC is on a mission to snatch the Madina seat from the governing New Patriotic Party.
Sidii Musah presented his nomination forms to the party office on Thursday, July 18, 2019.
“The filing of nomination marks the beginning of the rescue mission in Madina that we are about to start. I, Sidii Musah, will lead the rescue mission to rescue the Madina seat from the NPP,” he said after he presented his forms.
“I urge the Electoral Committee to continue, until the day the declaration is made, to continue to be impartial. We are pledging to conduct a smooth campaign devoid of any rancour. We will execute our campaign with the unity of Madina in mind. We will not do anything to mar the peace and stability that the constituency enjoys.”
When asked about some assertions that he was new in the constituency and may not make any impact, Sidii Musah said, “I am not a new person in the system. I am a former youth organiser of the party. I have information about almost every constituency.”
“When we embrace one another as NDC members, I don’t think we will have any issues. All of us are capable and the delegates will decide.”
Courtesy call on Madina chief
Before presenting his nomination forms at the party office, Sidii Abubakar Musah paid a courtesy call on the chief of Madina, Alhaji Baba Seidu on Wednesday (July 17, 2019).
“I am here at your palace to officially present my nomination forms for the upcoming NDC primaries in the constituency. I am confident of winning the primaries and wrestling power from the clueless New Patriotic Party (NPP) come 2020,” he said when he met the chief.
