A five-member committee has been set up by the Central Regional Police command to investigate reports of corrupt and unprofessional conduct by officers in the division.
The committee chaired by the Central Regional Crime Officer Chief Superintendent, Reuben Asiwoko has two weeks to submit it’s final report the Regional Police Command.

Speaking to Citi News at a press briefing in Assin Fosu, COP Paul Manly Awini the Central Regional Police Commander explained that the committee would be sitting at the Municipal Assembly Conference room at Assin Fosu.
“For the purposes of maintaining neutrality in its findings the committee will be sitting at Assin Fosu Municipal Conference rooms COP Paul Manly Awini said.
The Regional Police Command is encouraging witnesses and victims to come forward with evidence against any Police Officer within the division who has been involved in corrupt practices or has been unprofessional.
“I urge individuals in the region to come forward with evidence against any Police Officer who has conducted himself in an unprofessional manner and I can assure that that Police Officer will be dealt with according to the laws of the land” COP Paul Manly Awini explained.
“No Officer found guilty would be shielded”the Regional Police Commander added.
He assured the public of the continuous efforts of the Police to protect lives, properties and maintain law and order in the region.
“We are also waging a war against criminals in the region as a way of fighting crimes,” COP Paul Manly Awini said
