The Ghana Chamber of Construction Industry (GhCCI) has intervened to get the delayed payments of companies within the building and construction industry settled.
The Chamber in a statement said it has engaged the government on the matter and is still in talks with the government to address “the canker of delayed payments in the Construction Industry entirely.”
The statement also urged its constituent members such as the Ghana Institution of Engineering (GhIE) and Association of Road Contractors (ASROC) to collate all their certificates for the delayed payments to allow it take action on it.
“Due to time constraints, leadership hereby instructed all Constituency Members of the Chamber to as a matter of urgency furnish the Chamber with copies of all outstanding payment certificates as well as other relevant supporting documents on or before 14th August, 2019.”

as part of the process to the curing stage, the leadership of the Ghana Chamber of Construction Industry is officially announcing through it Constituent Members;
- Ghana Institution of Engineering (GhIE).
- Ghana Institution of Surveyors (GhIS);
- Association of Road Contractors (ASROC);
- Association of Building and Civil Engineering Contractors of Ghana (ABCECG);
- Ghana Institute of Planners (GIP);
- Progressive Road Contractors Association (PROCA);
- Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB), Ghana Hub;
- Ghana Electrical Contractors Association (GECA);
- Artisans Association of Ghana (AAG);
- Ghana Electronic Security and Safety Association (GESSA);
- Ghana Institute of Architects (GIA);
- Ghana Real Estate Developers Association (GREDA).
That, each Constituent Member of the Chamber is to immediately take steps to collate Certificates for Payment of all Building & Civil Engineering Contractors, Road Contractors, Consultants, Electrical Contractors and Suppliers across the entire Country and submit same to the Chamber leadership accordingly.
This is to enable Chamber leadership to be equipped with better and further particulars of facts and figures in order to present an accurate data for prompt payment.
Furthermore, leadership of the Chamber is also advising all Building and Civil Engineering Contractors, Road Contractors, Consultants, Electrical Contractors and Suppliers to humbly collaborate by submitting their Payment Certificates to the following persons as directed.
