A 28-year-old woman has been reported missing by her niece, Edna Dodzi and her two friends Bernice Fiahe and Selassie Asamoah in the Greater Accra Region.
The 28-year-old, Benedicta Amenowu was last seen leaving her home for Agbogloshie to buy foodstuff and has since not returned.
She left home on Saturday, August 17, 2019, at around 3 am.
Her dress and slippers were found lying behind Melcom at First Junction, Teshie.
According to her niece, efforts to reach her through her phone has been futile.
The case has been reported to the police for further assistance.
The relative of Benedicta Amenowu and her friends who spoke to Citi News said they suspect she has been kidnapped.
Selassie Asamoah, one of her friend said someone in the area had heard people struggling in the early morning of the incident.
“We believe that she has been kidnapped because we have not heard from her, no calls and I was told by someone within the area the kidnapping happened, that she heard some people struggling and the last thing she heard was ‘let’s go’ and that was it,” he said.
Such stories have become popular in the media in recent times amidst confirmed incidents of kidnapping in various parts of the country.
