Beta Malt Ghana, a subsidiary of Accra Brewery Limited (ABL) has presented tertiary educational scholarship worth GHC30,000.00 to two outstanding athletes in the just ended 31st Inter-Regional Senior High Schools Sport Festival held in Bolgtanga in the Upper East Region.
The two overall male and female best athletes, FosterAmetsi and Grace Obour both from T.I AMAS in the Ashanti Region received GHC15,000.00 each to further their education.
While Grace Obour won gold medals for 100 meters, 200 meters, 400 meters and all relays, Foster Ametsi won gold medals in long jumpand Triple Jump.
Speaking to Citinews, Beta Malt Brands Manager, Mrs.Portia Offei Asare, said, Beta Malt was a brand that believes in offering a experiences that will play meaningful roles in the lives of consumers and empowering young Ghanaians to pursue their dreams.
“We have always believed that, with Beta Malt, the only way is up, as you the athletes undoubtedly have exhibited these traits. As part of our support, Beta Malt has pledged GHC30,000.00 worth of tertiary scholarship to the overall best male and female best athlete that emerged winners.
This support will continue to keep alive the hope of many students’athletes dreaming of a future in sports while contributing to ABL’s investments in growing well where everyone has an opportunity to improve their livelihoods. ABL will therefore continue support initiatives of harnessing potentials to produce the next world champion for Ghana”.
Mrs. Asare urged the athletes to strive for success with Beta Malt as their beverage campion on their way up to becoming a new generation of athletic ambassadors for Ghana.
“Physical education and sports remain important disciplines that provide holistic intervention to developing the mental and physical aspects of the body of young people and what better way to inspire athletes to go all the way up with Beta Malt”.
For their part, the beneficiaries expressed profound gratitude for the scholarship package in pursuit of higher education and excellence in sports.
Miss Grace Obour who is also an international athlete admonished sports men and women to focus on their training and be obedient in order the excel in the individual disciplines.
At the end of the Ghana Education Service 31st Inter-Regional Senior High Schools Sport Festival, the Central Region took the bragging right as the overall champions among the ten regions.
Ashanti Region and Upper East Region placed second and third respectively.
Respectively; The Eastern Region came fourth, Greater Accra came Fifth, Volta place Sixth, Bono Ahafo came Seventh, Northern Region Eighth, Upper West Region placed ninth and the Western Region came tenth.
Meanwhile, the 2021 Inter-Regional Senior High Schools Sports Festival will be hosted by the Western Region.
