A private company providing security for installations and offices of the Volta River Authority, Cobra Security Services, has accused management of another company, Group 4 Security, of fraudulently acquiring a contract to take over their work.
According to the management of Cobra Security, it won the latest contract after providing services to the VRA for fourteen years.
Due to the ongoing tussle, both companies are currently providing security services to the VRA.
The Regional Manager of Cobra Security, Mawuli Eworyi, spoke to Citi News:
“They opened a tender for the company to bid. Cobra bid and first bid, we won. For the second bid, we won. Then they changed the panel which sat for the bid and changed it to Group 4. Group 4 had not bid for the contract but they just called them.”
But a management member of Group 4 Security, Hanson Agbeko, who also spoke to Citi News about his knowledge of the contract said he would wait for the law to take its course.
“We are just watching now… I cannot decide [to sack them] on my own. I cannot force them [out] but the law will show.”
