Global ICT Leader, Huawei Technologies, carried the day as the only company to win four awards at the 2019 Mobex Africa Innovation Awards held last Saturday, to celebrate excellence, innovation and creativity among enterprises and individuals in Africa.
At the Innovation Awards, Huawei’s 5G innovation emerged as winner for the Most Innovative Service Provider in the Business of Tomorrow Category. Huawei has developed eleven 5G R&D centers around the world and has utilize more than 5700 5G R&D experts and engineers to advance the future of the 5G revolution.
It has also announced the first 5G smartphone, the Huawei Mate 20 X (5G) equipped with the world’s first and most powerful 5G multiple mode chipset for high speed connectivity and flexible communication.
At the same awards, Huawei was adjudged the best company with Innovation in Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), with its global flagship innovative CSR program; Huawei Seeds for the Future initiative. Huawei’s Seeds for the Future CSR program has won many awards in Ghana since its inception in 2015.
The program which seeks to develop local ICT talent, enhance knowledge transfer, promote a greater understanding of and interest in the latest innovative technologies, offers brilliant University students the rare opportunity of visiting Huawei Labs in China to learn the late and improve regional building and participation in the digital community. 60 Students have so far benefited from the initiative.
Huawei’s customer centric core value also earned the organizations their 3rd award of the night as the company was named winner of the Innovation in Customer Service Awards, while the Huawei P30 Pro which comes with four rear cameras, with an ultra-wide angle and 50x zoom capabilities as well as a 200mAh battery with 40W SuperCharge technology was named the Mobile Device of the Year.
Speaking on the Awards, Managing Director for Huawei, Ghana, Mr. Tommy Zhou, said; “We appreciate the awards as it shows that our efforts are being recognized.
Huawei will continue to bring innovative technologies and solutions to better improve the lives of Ghanaians.” He added that through their flagship Seeds for the Future and Huawei ICT Academy, Huawei has trained 1000+ Ghanaians in various ICT disciplines.”
