The top ten finalists of Citi FM’s The Literacy Challenge have been announced after they took part in the aptitude test last Friday.
With the grand prize of GHc10,000 at stake, 10 Junior High School students spanning the Greater Accra, Eastern, Ahafo and Bono East regions will participate in the final quiz on Saturday, September 14, 2019.
The final will be a traditional general quiz competition that will test the students’ critical thinking, oral and numeracy skills, among others.
Ahead of the final, the finalists will begin camping at the Swiss Spirit Hotel from Wednesday, September 11, 2019.
After the last two winners coming from Christ the King School in Accra, this year’s top 10 has no representative from the Cantonments school.

The ultimate victor will join the past winners of the competition; Krystyn Naa Adoley Bruce and Ayeyi Atta Kakra Anim-Addo.
The first and second runner ups shall be awarded GHc5,000 and GHc3,000 respectively.
The Literacy Challenge seeks to engage students in solving societal issues through writing to improve their skills.
The first hurdle to this prize is a handwritten essay with a 600-word limit on the topic :
In recent years, indiscipline on our roads has led to the loss of many lives. In light of this, write an essay, suggesting ways to solve this problem, in order to help Ghana’s economy to grow and develop.
